Site Deliveries Week!

After a few steady weeks whilst the plastering was completed and the walls had the mis-coat applied throughout, we’ve are very much back into the full swing of big and frequent  site deliveries!

First to arrive on site were the windows and doors, all 33 of them! The client has opted for sliding sash traditional casement windows, made with the ultra-high performance engineered sustainable timber – Accoya.  Less shrinkage and swelling, Accoya is the premium choice for our clients’ dream home.  This product comes with a 50 year above ground warranty, giving the peace of mind that the doors and windows will open effortlessly and look flawless all year round, and importantly keeping the house cosy and the energy bills down.

Starting with the most delicate and un uniform shapes, we carefully moved the door frames and windows inside the house to keep them dry and safe. Our team enjoyed a well-earned tea break after this was finished!

Next to arrive was the kitchen. Opting for a rigid carcass rather than flat pack, the kitchen arrived already assembled, which is a huge bonus for the build.  Rigid carcasses are assembled off site in a factory and are considered structurally superior to a flat pack kitchen and they importantly reduce the risk of missing parts and components which, anyone who has built a flat pack kitchen will agree, can significantly delay progress!

In other news, we had BT Openreach finished the final stages of the fibre installation and after 7 months of us moving the goal posts (!) we were finally able to invite Cadent Gas back to move the gas supply and refit a new meter.

So, as you can see, it’s been a hectic week and with all those site deliveries there are boxes and packages everywhere!  Hopefully next week, some of these will be unpacked and installed!
