It’s been all go welcoming a new trade to site during week 23 of our new build. Over the next couple of weeks, we have the plasterers here starting with dry lining the walls throughout. Also known as ‘dot and dab’ it’s a method used to fix plasterboard securely to concrete of a thick brick wall.
Tag teaming each other, the skilled team of 4 plasterers will track each other and make their way through the 2 storeys of this large house. We expect the whole process to take 2-3 weeks from start to finish. Bringing up the rear, we’ll be ready get a mis coat on as soon as the plaster has dried, allowing our carpenters to make a start on the internal fit out.
The clean smooth lines are already making a huge difference and the building is looking much more like habitable home rather than a husk of a house which it currently is. For any DIY enthusiasts out there, we highly recommend leaving this element of a project to the experts!
Moving outside, the seamless guttering has been completed to the ground. That just leaves the windows and doors which we are expecting on site in a couple of weeks and the superstructure will finally be completed! All that leaves us with is the grand job of the interiors, so we are bracing ourselves for an extremely busy 6 weeks or so. Until then, we still have a couple of quiet-ish weeks to sit out until we hit the last phase with gusto!
This will see lighting, flooring, joinery, kitchen & bathroom installations and our client’s choice of internal finishes finally start coming to life!
